New Seniors Community Grant awarded in Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill
AURORA — Today, MPP Parsa announced$24,965 for the Volunteer Outreach Program to support People Living with Dementia (and their care partners).
This Seniors Community Grant is part of Ontario’s continued celebration of Seniors Month.
“The Alzheimer Society of York Region has long been a source of strength and support for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. The Senior Community Grant is a meaningful investment in the ability to deliver active living programs that promote connection and well-being,” said Michael Parsa, MPP for Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill. “Enhancing access to these vital services not only improves quality of life but also reaffirms our commitment to building a more compassionate and inclusive community for all seniors.”
Seniors Community Grants range from $1,000 to $25,000.

June is Seniors Month in Ontario. A time when the province showcases and celebrates the incredible contributions seniors have made to the province.
“These Seniors Community Grants bring our seniors together to keep them fit, active, healthy and socially connected,” said Raymond Cho, Minister for Seniors and Accessibility. “These locally based community investments helps seniors learn new skills, get fit, enjoy group activities and stay connected to their neighbours and friends.”
Ontario is also announcing annual funding for 416 Seniors Active Living Centres (SALCs), including 100 new SALCs. Over 100 Seniors Active Living Fairs (SALFs) took place last year and plans are now in place to hold close to 150 SALFs in communities all over Ontario. To find a fair near you, visit this link.
